International Self-Care Day 2025

7 tips for small business owners:
Running a small business is rewarding, exciting… and let’s be honest, exhausting. With endless to-dos and constant decision-making, it’s easy to put yourself at the bottom of the priority list.
But here’s the truth: you are your business’s most valuable asset.
This International Self-Care Day, I’m sharing gentle reminders and practical tips to help you refuel, refocus, and reframe your relationship with rest.
Schedule “White Space” in Your Calendar
That blank slot on your calendar? Don’t fill it. Claim it. Treat it like any other important meeting—except this one is with yourself.
Automate and Delegate
There are only so many hours in a day. Use tools like Microsoft Bookings or bring in a virtual assistant (hello there 👋) to handle the moving parts so you can stay in your zone of genius.
Create a Digital Wind-Down Ritual
Set a shutdown time for your laptop. Dim the lights. Queue up some relaxing music or take a quick walk. This helps your mind shift out of work mode, especially when your “office” lives at home.
Protect Your Mornings
Resist the scroll. Start your day with a grounding habit; a cup of tea, a walk, journaling, even 10 quiet minutes without a screen. Your inbox can wait.
Set Boundaries Like a Boss
Define your work hours and stick to them. Communicate them clearly to clients. It shows professionalism and encourages respect.
Celebrate the Small Wins
Not every milestone needs fireworks. Tick off a tricky task? Posted that overdue blog? Pause and celebrate. Progress is fuel.
Nourish Your Body and Mind
It’s basic but essential: drink water, stretch, eat something green. You’d never let a colleague burn out, so give yourself the same care.
You don’t need a full spa day to practice self-care. Small, consistent actions can change how you show up—for your business and for yourself.
